Superintendent
Mr. Randy Carman.
As superintendent of Lakewood, I am privileged to work in our school with some of the finest Christian educators and students in the country. God is doing some tremendous things at Lakewood and I am grateful and privileged to be a part of it. It is a pleasure to minister here and watch both students and families grow in their educational and spiritual experience. Challenging them to pursue a real relationship with Christ wherever God calls them to minister is one of my particularly favorite parts of the work. I love seeing our students learn the truth and take hold of it to make a difference in their own lives, the lives of their friends, and the lives of the people with whom they will learn and work.
Lakewood has been home for me since 2003. My work and ministry experience prior to Lakewood includes eight years as a faculty member, administrator, and Vice-President for Student Development at Davis College in Binghamton, New York, and six years on the leadership team of a sports memorabilia and trading card company. Additionally, I spent three years working with the Binghamton City School District leading a 21st Century Learning Center to serve at-risk students. This was a unique opportunity to involve Christian college students in the teaching, counseling and leading of public school students.
Throughout the years, I have had the opportunity to teach young people in many venues including coaching basketball for both boys and girls, from teams of five-year olds to high school to college teams. Coaching and developing youth in any sport or area is always enjoyable for me. Other ministry experience includes serving the Lord in the local church as a leader of adult Bible studies, deacon, and in children’s ministries; and leading mission trips to the urban center of Kingston, Jamaica.
My formal education includes a bachelor of science from Baptist Bible College (PA) in secondary education / social studies with a Bible major and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Marywood University (Scranton, PA). I have completed the coursework for my Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University and am in the process of completing my dissertation. My informal education continues daily as I learn from our students, faculty, families, board and the many gifted individuals God uses to try to make me more like Him.

Elementary Principal
Mrs. Linda Pearson
As principal of Lakewood, God has allowed me to work within the very passion of my heart, which is to partner with parents in educating and discipling young children on Biblical principals. Deuteronomy 11:19 clearly gives parents full responsibility for the spiritual development of their children, during every moment of the day. It is my goal to work with parents in raising spiritual champions. I firmly believe that children flourish when parents, a local church, and a school all are saying the same message in a consistent manner. If current research on spiritual development is correct, a child’s spiritual foundation is largely in place by the age of nine. That makes the elementary years of education of extremely important. I am excited about all that God is doing at Lakewood and am humbled to be a partner with such awesome parents.
Personally, I have been married thirty three years and have raised two sons. My husband is Jim, and he is the senior pastor at Brookside Church in Fort Wayne. We enjoy being in ministry together and love the ministry of our church. My oldest son is married and lives in Florida. My youngest son is a junior in college at The University of Indianapolis. Both of my sons are avid golfers and awesome men. Personally, when I find some free time I love to read and enjoy cooking from scratch.
Professionally, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Ohio State University and a Master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. I have enjoyed teaching kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and sixth grade in both public and private education. In recent years, I have served as Children’s Ministries Director at Brookside Church.
I am excited about all that Lakewood is currently offering their families and believe that we have exciting years ahead of us. I am committed to seeing each child become all that they can be within their unique design of personality and gift mix. I am always eager to meet parents so that we can work together for the benefit of their child.

High School Principal
Mr. Mike Christner
I am the secondary school (7th – 12th grade) principal for Lakewood Park Christian School. I have lived in and around the Auburn area for the majority of my life. Upon graduation from DeKalb High School in 1994, I spent one year at Greenville College in Illinois. The following year, I transferred to Grace College and obtained a Bachelor of Science in General and Physical Science in 1998. The next year and a half were spent at IPFW taking my teaching licensure classes and doing my student teaching, which I completed just prior to the year 2000.
From 2000 – 2003, I taught 6th and 7th grade science at Central Noble Middle School. I really enjoyed the students and the school, but felt a leading to make a change. For the 2003 – 2004 school year, I agreed to take on a teaching position in science at Lakewood Park. Just before the year started, I was asked to handle the discipline for that school year. Over the course of the year, the job evolved into “Interim Principal.” Eventually, I interviewed for the full-time position with the Lakewood school board and was offered my current position.
I am extremely fortunate to have a very loving and supportive wife, Terri, and two children, Mikey and Avery. I have the luxury of having both of my kids here at school with me, and they have both enjoyed being at the school. When I find spare time, I generally like to relax in the common interests of my kids. We all enjoy sports, video games, board games, and Star Wars.
While being in administration wasn’t originally a life goal of mine, I have experienced a great amount of blessings, joy, and challenges through this job. It allows me to interact with students in and out of the classroom and develop a rapport with them that I still enjoy.

Athletic Director
Coach Don Davis
I graduated from Baptist Bible College in 2001, with a degree in Bible and Physical Education. I am certified with the ACSI as a Health and PE teacher. I am also certified through the American Sport Education Program as an amateur coach.
Throughout college and my time as a coach, I have had awesome opportunities to travel around the world putting on basketball camps and clinics for young boys and girls. I have been able to teach basketball and also spread the good news of Christ and what He has done for each one of us.
After college I filled the positions of the Athletic Director, varsity soccer coach, varsity basketball coach, and PE teacher at New Life Christian School in Dunellen, New Jersey. At New Life, I was able to learn and grow tremendously as God prepared me to come to Lakewood Park Christian School in 2003.
I am very excited about being at Lakewood and the awesome potential that is here. I see the school growing and affecting all of DeKalb County, not only through sports, but each and every program it offers. I am committed to running and developing an excellent athletic program at Lakewood Park Christian School.
