HS Bible
Mr. Rob Atkins
I graduated from Baptist Bible College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Bible majoring in Youth Pastoral Studies. I went on to seminary for two semesters after graduation. In the summer of 2005 while interning as a Youth Pastor, I was contacted about a high school Bible teaching position at Lakewood. I took the job and moved to Indiana. In the summer of 2006 I married Melissa.

I am so glad I have the privilege to teach high school Bible here at Lakewood. I can't think anything better then being able to teach and study God's word with students. Along with that I also coach the boy's varsity soccer team. This is an incredible opportunity to use athletics to disciple young men. God used coaches in my life to influence me in great ways and I hope to be able to be used in the same way as a coach here at Lakewood.

Melis and I thank God for the opportunity that we have to be at a place where God is working in such great ways.

JH Bible
Mr. Bud Chaney

During a mission’s conference in 1985, the Lord called me into the ministry. A month later I began my formal Bible training with Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York. After graduating from the Bible Institute, I was invited to stay another year to enable me to attend the Word of Life School of Youth Ministry. Word of Life provided me with a full scholarship and in return I represented the school throughout the Northeast and Canada via an all-male singing quartet. After completing my schooling and commitment with Word of Life, I moved back home (Michigan) for about one month. It was during my stay in Michigan that the Lord led me to be the interim Youth Pastor of Oakland Baptist Church, King George, Virginia. I accepted the position with the understanding that I be able to complete my bachelor’s degree at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Spring of 1991, I graduated from TTU with a Bachelors of Science in Pastoral Studies, with a Bible major.

From 1991 to 1998 I had several ministries that provided me with hands-on involvement as an associate pastor with emphasis on youth, music/worship leading, and evangelism. In 1998, God led my family and I to Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary (Memphis, Tennessee). I graduated from MABTS in 2002 with a Masters of Divinity in Biblical Studies. Several months later God called me as the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Huntertown, Indiana, where I currently serve.

I was hired to teach Bible to the 7th and 8th graders for the 2005-06 school year at Lakewood. What a great honor it is! My desire is to equip young teenagers with the Bible which will enable them to make an eternal impact on their culture for Jesus Christ’s sake.
