Beyond the Bell

The Beyond the Bell program offers care before school (beginning at 6:30 a.m.), after school (until 6:00 p.m.), and also on days when there is a school delay, early dismissal, or school closure. In other words, you can count on them to be here most days, with the exception of a few holidays or when there is a snow emergency and no one is allowed on the roads.

It is a drop-in service so you can pay for just the times you use it. You also do not have to call before dropping off your child on school delay or closing days. If there is a delay day and then school is cancelled, the staff will make sure your child has a lunch if he or she has not packed for the day. he cost will be the regular lunch cost during a school day. They also serve breakfast before 7:15 a.m. for an extra $1 per day. The school is excited that the church is able to offer this service and hope it will make your life less stressful, especially on bad weather days.

Enrollment
The cost for this service is $2 per hour. All parents are required to enroll in the Beyond the Bell program, fill out a registration form, and put $40 on account, even if you never plan to use the service. This ensures that the staff has contact and medical information on your child if you are unexpectedly delayed. The first $10 is a registration fee that will be returned if you do not use the program during the year. The other $30 will be used as pre-payment for the first 15 hours of care. When your account is reduced to $4 and then you will be asked to put more on account. If you don’t put money on account and your child is served by the program during the year, you will be charged $3 per hour instead of the normal $2.

Pre-K Students
Another service offered by Beyond the Bell is for Pre-K students, who are in class from 8 – 11 or 12 – 3 and need day care for the other half of the day. Finally, there is a summer program for students in grades Pre-K through fifth grade that is run somewhat like a summer camp with crafts, sports, music and lots of planned activities for the students to enjoy.

Early Learning Ministry Beyond the Bell is offered to our students by the church’s Early Learning Ministry (ELM). They also provide day care for 2 – 5 years olds and have a preschool for children who are not ready for our Pre-K program. If you are interested in quality child care for your little ones or the Beyond the Bell program for your school-age children, leave a message at the ELM office (925-2006, ext. 130) and someone will get back to you to set up an appointment or give you more information.
