Lakewood Park Christian School is a preK-12 school located just north of Fort Wayne. The school is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education through the Freeway Schools program, the North Central Association of Schools, and the Association of Christian Schools International. Our mission is to promote a biblical worldview as the foundation for educational excellence in partnership with the Christian home and church. Our vision is that our students view life in light of the Truth and exercise their Godgiven design to engage their world for Christ.
We currently have three openings for the 2010-2011 school year. While the main responsibility is delivering educational excellence to students in each grade and subject level consistent with the mission, vision and core values of the school, additional duties include maintaining a godly spirit-led life and approach to work, developing students personally and academically, focusing instruction on a biblical worldview, and creating diverse lesson plans based in differentiated Instruction. The successful candidate will need to be able to lead Bible-based, small group activities with middle school students and be able to communicate with parents in a timely and effective manner.
Successful candidates will also have experience as an educator, a bachelor's degree in education or a related field, and possess Indiana and/or ACSI certification. They should thoroughly appreciate students and seek to develop and disciple them, demonstrating wisdom, emotional discipline and timeliness in decision-making. They should support the doctrinal statement of the school. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a Biblical educational philosophy relevant to 21st century students. Requirements include a professional appearance, strong written and oral communication skills, time management skills, and competency in Microsoft Office applications.
